Monumental work by Johan Creten moved to a new location near the Red Star Line Museum

Pliny’s Sorrow is an impressive bronze sculpture by the Flemish artist Johan Creten, who lives in Paris. This sculpture is on permanent public display at the Rijnkaai.

Foundation of the museum

The idea for the museum was launched in 1992. Since then several partners have come aboard on this project.

Belgian emigrants

In 1890, Louis van Engelen painted 'Belgian emigrants'. The painting is exhibited in the museum.

World Cruise News

During Red Star Line cruises, the World Cruise News newspaper was printed. The publication was free, and came out three times a week.
